Is there something wrong with focusing all your attention on yourself at some point in your life? Why do you feel guilty for paying attention to yourself?

Remember, it’s your life and you are the best person to show up for you. Yes! It is only when your cup is filled that you can fill the cups of others. At this point, I feel like if you know me well enough, you’ll agree to the fact that this line is one of my favourite lines always.

In this article, I want to share ways you can show up for yourself or prioritise yourself as the case may be. Ensure to read till the end to get the best tips.

The first thing you must do is RENEW YOUR MINDSET.
I used to be always about people and for people. My dear, it drained me. I felt empty at some point as this was my mindset for a long time till I had to do some mind-renewing. To be honest, until your mind is renewed, you will always feel guilty for coming through for yourself or putting yourself first.

The second thing you will have to do is DECLUTTER.
Decluttering is another important thing to do. Do you know that people find it hard to do this too? Oh! I didn’t know the importance of doing this until I started to do it. To declutter is to organize and prioritize (one’s commitments, material possessions, etc.). Is it not possible that you are doing so much for others than yourself?
Think about it!

At some point in my life, I gave everything to some people… I didn’t know what this was doing to me until I realised it was breaking me and I just had to declutter. That was one of the things I had to let go of and I must admit that my healing began from there. I had to prioritise myself. The truth is, after reading this article is the best time to declutter and prioritise you.

The third thing you need to do is pay attention to your body, how you look, what you eat and who you allow into your life. I’ll try to talk about them one after the other for clarity’s sake.

Paying attention to your body is knowing what your body needs and giving them to it. Your body is you remember? The soap and cream you use is one area to look into. Enough of using detergent to bath and Vaseline as a body cream. You can do better for your body eh? It doesn’t cost that much.

Pay attention to how you look. This can be about your appearance. Change your wardrobe if need be. Eweee! change those old clothes if need be. Get a few new clothes, for the ladies, get some make-up kits that are original, and don’t just leave yourself to keep looking like you constantly need help.

Pay attention to what you eat too. Don’t just eat, try as much as you can to eat healthy. Take some supplements too. This is highly essential. It’s a good step to prioritising you.

Pay attention to who you allow into your life. Remember you have the power to say NO and YES always. Do not allow just anyone and everyone into your life. Choose wisely. Do not for any reason allow toxic people around you. They are infectious and they are also not good for you.
