I promise to make this post easy to comprehend and i also promise to make it brief. Enough of Christians hating on fellow Christians as a result of differences in religion practices.
I was on facebook some time last year and i saw a post and the writer said ” I don’t want to see a christian on sunday, show me a christian on monday to saturday” When i saw that, i smiled because the writer had a point there. We look our best on sunday’s, smile as though we are nice, raise up holy hands and go out after service living our normal lives again. Please, don’t get me wrong, this is not to judge anyone or point accusing fingers to anyone; as a matter of fact, who am i to judge? I am also trying my best to please God in my own little way. But then again, we have to hear the truth even if it hurts.
Just to give you a scenario, i was listening to two guys arguing last week and it got so hot that one told the other ” I go beat you forget say i be christian” hmmm, The other guy screamed back and said ” I go forget my hand for your face and you go know say no be to dey go church be the thing, i no blame you, na that your pastor wey God no call i blame. hypocrite like you” Really? I was amazed how two Christians can have an argument and they say all sort. Another painful thing i’ve seen happen is how Christians smile at the pain and hurt of other Christians… This is not fair.
The bible in Philippians 2:12 says we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling. It’s first a you thing. Who you truly are outside the church building. Who truly are you when the pastors and members are not watching. Who you are in your workplace and environment. Do you see things going bad and you can help but ignore. It’s more than helping only those who are the church or Christians alone; it is about living the Christ like life. Building and maintaining a personal relationship with God. Focusing more on your private communication with Him than the public show off.
Now, you might want to ask me who a christian is then… Well, a Christian is that person who knows God for himself or herself.
When you know God for yourself, He communicates with you personally. He instructs, guides, direct and lead you. Nothing moves or shakes you as you know who God is to you. No matter what you are seeing or not seeing, you know God is God and He cannot change.
Personally, i hungered for God from a tender age and i found Him. He knows me to a very large extent and knows how best to bring me back to Him when i go astray. God loves everyone and He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him.
When you see a weak Christian, instead of looking down on them and mocking them, please pray for them. And most importantly, know God for yourself so you can help others.
Finally, the pastors and priests are human beings too and still go to God to help them, why then do you take them to be too big to sin or fall sometimes? Looking up to them as though they cannot make mistakes or need help once in a while. Look unto God alone and do not allow, persons, doctrines or religion differences take you away from the love of Christ.
Know God for yourself and stay graced always. Cheers!
